Common Name: Single-colored Epidendrum Orchid
Native to: Ecuador, Columbia, Venezuela. Epidendrum purum is widespread and found throughout much of northern South America. It grows on trees in moist forests from 500 to 2800 meters in elevation.
Plant Size: Medium. Epidendrum purum has reed-like stems with thin, narrow green leaves.
Flower Size: 0.75 inches (2 cm)
Flower Description: Epidendrum purum produces many flowers on a terminal inflorescence. The flowers are fragrant.
Bloom Season: Fall to Winter
Growing Temperature: Cool to Warm
Additional Information: Epidendrum purum can be grown on cork bark slabs, slatted baskets, or pots with coarse growing media. Provide ample water and fertilizer during periods of active growth and reduce water after growth matures.
