Common Name: Many Belly-flower Epidendrum Orchid
Native to: Ecuador. Epidendrum polyanthogastrium is found growing on the western slopes of the Andes mountains in Ecuador. It is found around 2000 meters in elevation.
Plant Size: Miniature. Epidendrum polyanthogastrium has fleshy leaves and branched stems.
Flower Size: 0.5 inches (1 cm)
Flower Description: The small flowers are produced on a terminal inflorescence from the tip of mature growths. Each flower stem produces up to seven flowers that open at the same time.
Bloom Season: Fall to Winter
Growing Temperature: Cool
Additional Information: This species is closely related to Epidendrum megagastrium and Epidendrum amplexigastrium. Grow mounted on cork bark or tree fern slabs and provide cool, humid growing conditions.
