Common Name: Lauche's Epidendrum
Native to: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Columbia. Epidendrum laucheanum grows on trees in wet cloud forests between 800 and 2100 meters in elevation.
Plant Size: Small. Epidendrum laucheanum has upright, reed-like stems that have a few narrow leaves.
Flower Size: 1 inch (2.5 cm)
Flower Description: The flowers of Epidendrum laucheanum are produced in great quantity on an arching terminal inflorescence. The 18 inch (45 cm) flower stem produces up to 100 flowers on well-grown plants.
Bloom Season: Summer
Growing Temperature: Warm to Cool
Additional Information: Epidendrum laucheanum is an interesting and very free-blooming species. Grow mounted on cork and provide even water and fertilizer. Standard Cattleya growing conditions are acceptable. Adaptable. Large plants can become very impressive species.
