Common Name: Large Kliniandrum Epidendrum
Native to: Mexico south to Panama. Epidendrum macroclinium grows on trees in humid forests up to 1000 meters in elevation. It prefers growing on the trunks of large trees.
Plant Size: Small. Epidendrum macroclinium has short, reed-like stems with a few leathery leaves.
Flower Size: 0.25 inches (1 cm)
Flower Description: The flowers are produced on a branched flower stem. Flowers one at a time over a long period. New flowers develop on old flower stems for many years.
Bloom Season: Anytime of the year.
Growing Temperature: Warm
Additional Information: Epidendrum macroclinium is a compact species that grows well mounted on cork bark. Provide warm, humid growing conditions. Do not cut the flower stalk after the plant finished blooming because new flowers can develop on the old stem for many years.
