Common Name: Poor Epidendrum
Native to: Brazil. It grows on trees in the vicinity of Bahia.
Plant Size: Large. Epidendrum infaustum has tall, robust-looking reed-like stems that have many leaves. Leaves fall after maturity.
Flower Size: 1 inch (2.5 cm)
Flower Description: Flower stems emerge from the stems after they mature and the leaves fall (become deciduous).
Bloom Season: Winter
Growing Temperature: Warm
Additional Information: Epidendrum infaustum is unique in the genus Epidendrum because the leaves are deciduous. Provide a cork mount or grow in a large slatted basket. This species needs warm Cattleya growing conditions.
