Laelia gloedeniana
Native to: Brazil. Rupicolous. Laelia gloedeniana is found growing in the mountains in the state of Espirito Santo at 1600 m in elevation.
Plant Size: Small. The pseudobulbs of Laelia gloedeniana grow to 25 cm tall and the leaf gows 30-50 cm long. The leaves are thick and robust and are green in color without red pigment.
Flower Size: 1 1/2 inches (5-6 cm)
Flower Description: Flowers of Laelia gloedeniana are yellow to pale yellow in color and are large for a rupicolous laelia.
Bloom Season: Late winter to early spring.
Growing Temperature: Cool to Warm
Additional Information: The culture of Laelia gloedeniana is the same as for other Brazilian rupicolous laelias. Provide bright light and good air circulation. There are albescens and alba forms in existence.
