Common Name: Cox's Epidendrum
Native to: Ecuador. Epidendrum coxianum is found growing in wet mountain forests on east-facing slopes of the Andes mountains between 1200 and 2600 meters in elevation.
Plant Size: Small. The plants have slender, upright reed-like stems that have a couple of leaves.
Flower Size: 1.25 inches (3 cm)
Flower Description: Epidendrum coxianum produces four to six flowers on an eight inch (20 cm) long unbranched flower stem.
Bloom Season: Winter
Growing Temperature: Warm to Cool
Additional Information: Epidendrum coxianum was named in honor of a British orchid enthusiast from the late 1800's.
Synonyms: Epidendrum dalstromii
