Native to: Mexico, Honduras. Epidendrum melistagum grows on trees in mountainous forests between 500 and 1800 meters in elevation.
Plant Size: Medium. The plant is similar in form to Epidendrum difforme. Epidendrum melistagum has upright, reed-like stems with linear leaves.
Flower Size: 1.5 inches (4 cm)
Flower Description: The fragrant flowers of Epidendrum melistagum bloom on a terminal inflorescence that bears up to 25 flowers. It has a sweet lemon fragrance in the morning that changes to an unpleasant fragrance in the afternoon.
